Chapter 426: This Adorably Silly Tsundere Man
Chapter 426: This Adorably Silly Tsundere Man
It was the first time Evelyn saw Caden Lockwood wearing an apron.
She remembered before, Caden Lockwood always had his meals served to him, he never even went into the kitchen to get chopsticks.
He was used to commanding her and Aunt May around, playing the role of the young master to the fullest.
At this moment, the bedroom door was knocked.
Evelyn instinctively hid under the covers, thinking Caden had arrived.
Then she heard Aunt May’s voice: "Young Madam, please open the door, I brought some milk for you."
Evelyn sighed in relief, hesitating a moment before getting up to open the door.
Seeing it was only Aunt May outside, with no Caden in sight, Evelyn wasn’t sure if she felt relieved or disappointed.
Aunt May entered the bedroom, closed the door, and after handing the milk to Evelyn, she couldn’t help but laugh.
"What’s so funny?" Evelyn raised an eyebrow.
She didn’t find anything amusing; all she wanted to do was cry.
"Didn’t Young Madam just see him?" Aunt May said softly.
Evelyn shook her head, not understanding what Aunt May was talking about.
"Young Master realized he made a mistake, and since Young Madam was unwilling to forgive him, he took out the chicken wings from the fridge yesterday, found a recipe, and wanted to personally make the cola chicken wings that Young Madam loves, as an apology." Aunt May explained, laughing again.
Listening to Aunt May, Evelyn was left speechless.
Caden Lockwood... make cola chicken wings?
She involuntarily remembered Caden distributing leaflets on the street for her.
That proud, aloof CEO was actually not that arrogant after all!
"But the first batch he made almost set the kitchen on fire. His handsome face was all blackened from the smoke, his features indistinguishable, except his eyes, which held a mix of hope, longing, and endless affection, as if all his reconciliation hopes were pinned on that plate of chicken wings." Aunt May spoke tenderly.
After a pause, Aunt May added, "For a man born with a silver spoon, for him to cook for Young Madam, it shows how deep his feelings are."
Evelyn lightly parted her lips, holding her breath, looking stunned.
Could Aunt May’s exclamation last night have been because Caden nearly burned the kitchen?
How incredible!
That man actually cooked!
Seeing a hint of softness in Evelyn’s expression, Aunt May quickly added, "Unfortunately, the first batch was ruined, and so was the second. Young Master worked all night, eventually managing not to burn them, but he was unhappy with the taste. He insisted on personally making a bowl of the most delicious cola chicken wings for Young Madam."
"..."
"All night long, Young Master didn’t sleep. Probably tried the chicken wings to the point of being sick! Thankfully, the house has plenty of ingredients."
Aunt May then let out a sigh.
Evelyn’s heart tightened.
What did Aunt May’s sigh mean?
Could it be... Caden got burnt somewhere?
That silly man, wasn’t he supposed to be good at everything?
How could he not have any talent for cooking?
"But so far, Young Master still hasn’t achieved the taste he wants." Aunt May said softly.
Evelyn felt a surge of emotion.
For a man like Caden Lockwood, even accepting compromise was something extremely unlikely.
Yet he not only compromised with her, he admitted his mistake, and he was even trying to please her.
Getting him to do all this was really not easy!
Was he hiding the fact that he was making cola chicken wings to show her the best side of himself?
No matter what that man did, he was always so proud.
But did he really spend the whole night making chicken wings?
How many chicken wings did he have to waste?
What a ridiculous man!
Yet, for some reason, she couldn’t seem to get angry, instead she found that man was kind of adorably silly.
"Young Madam," Aunt May continued, "please forgive Young Master. How nice would it be for this place to be filled with laughter and joy like before?"
