Chapter 370: The Auction
On 8th of October, Michael took Kate out, and they enjoyed the day. On that day, they visited quite a number of places, not limited to just the eastern province.
It was not until late at night that they finally returned. And, despite feeling a little mentally tired, they were both feeling full of energy.
Still, Kate had to go back home, because she had just returned from the training camp, and her mother wanted to see her, claiming that she wanted to talk to her about something.
As for the matter regarding training, Kate was still obstinate about it. That girl, despite the fact that she knew that her mother was waiting for her, she had intended to train for quite a while, before leaving.
But of course, there was no way that Michael was going to allow that. So, despite her reluctance, Kate still decided to leave. She did not agree to have Michael take her back home. Instead, she just drove Michael’s Porsche, claiming that she would return it the following day.
Then, on the following day, she arrived at Michael’s place very early, at 5 in the morning! This was something that had left Michael speechless, as he had not anticipated this before.
Regardless, because he had told her that she could train on that day, then he had no other choice but to let her train. But even then, he told her, she would have to balance between training and rest.
Therefore, she trained for about 3 hours, before Michael stopped her, so that she could have a meal. While she took energy bars in order to train, the energy bars mainly provided energy for the normal functioning of the body.
But even then, Michael preferred that they should eat, even if it was not to fill their stomachs. The taste of food, that was something that Michael never really wanted to forget about.
As for Kate, she really enjoyed the food that Michael prepared. To her, it was a special. It was not only because Michael was the one that was preparing it for her, but also because it was incredibly delicious.
After resting for about an hour, Kate wants again entered the training chamber, as she continued with the training.
For this obsession with improving her strength, Michael had nothing to say about it. He could tell, Kate wanted to get stronger, and there was no way that he was going to advise her against that.
In real sense, he really preferred her to have the ability of protecting herself. After all, it was much more dependable to depend on oneself as compared to expecting others to help out in some situations.
Even with Lina protecting her if they were on a mission, what would happen if they were not together at that time? Additionally, when it came to mutants, the advantage that Lina had against ordinary humans almost disappeared.
Good thing though, she had an ability that was at grade SSS. Therefore, unless there were humans with abilities that matched hers, she could probably deal with almost every mutant that she could encounter.
For now, Kate was still not powerful enough. She had not yet brought out the full potential of the grade SSS ability. It would still take quite some time, despite the rapid improvement speed that she was experiencing.
For the next few days, Kate would usually go to Michael’s place very early in the morning, train until afternoon. Then, they would go out together with Michael, but this time, they usually moved just around within the city.
In the evening, Kate would go back to spend time with her mother, who would have returned from work.
And just like that, it was 11th of October, the day that the auction would be held. This was the auction that was mentioned by Carol.
When Carol mentioned about such an auction being held, Michael was immediately interested. Even though he could acquire most of the things from within the system store, it was not enough.
Apart from growing strong himself, he still needed to understand the limits of this world. And that auction, it would allow him to understand some of the limits in this world.
While from the information that he had managed to collect, it was stated that only grade A mutation serums had been produced, maybe there was a higher grade?
There was even the probability that there was a mutant with a grade SSS ability. It was almost impossible to be able to tell which item within the system came from fiction and which were real.
The auction would be held at night, starting exactly at 8:30 p.m.

But if it was linked to the satellite, he could communicate with anyone around the world.
For that reason, no matter where he was, as long as he was not sleeping, Michael would always make sure that he was putting on the earpiece.
And at this moment, through the earpiece, Onyx informed him that he had a guest.
At the same time as Michael received the information, the doorbell rang. Michael did not say anything, as he got up and went to get the door.

A pair of brown leather ankle boots covered her feet, while a light plaid scarf rested around her neck for warmth. Her hair framed her face, stirring gently in the morning autumn breeze.
Even though they had agreed that they would meet today, Michael had not anticipated that Carol would come this early. After all, the auction would be held at night.
So, why was she here so early? Additionally, as a celebrity, she definitely had a packed schedule. But even then, she still had the time to come over this early?
For Carol’s situation, after Michael had asked Dwayne to take care of her issue, her situation had completely changed.
Initially, she was being suppressed, which was why, despite the hard work that she was putting in, she did was not that popular. It was no wonder that she was invited to Luxe KTV, where she met Michael.

"I thought that the auction would start at night? Why are you here this early? It is still 9 a.m." Michael asked, slightly puzzled.
