Chapter 513 – Coincidental Meeting
Chapter 513 – Coincidental Meeting
High up in the sky, Leyvi and Anda followed the same route they had taken over a decade ago, back when they were heading to Holy Cat City for Anda's Alchemy Competition."I can't believe it's been that long. I remember this is where we were attacked back then. We were just Foundation Building Realm cultivators at the time," Leyvi said, pointing down below.
The tunnel entrance Scarlet had once dug for the Leyan Family to hide in had long since been filled in. However, with his spiritual sense, Leyvi could still tell that the tunnel beneath remained perfectly intact.
He also noticed the spot where Anda had used Little Fiery's massive explosion to kill the old man who had chased them. Back then, the entire area had been charred black, but after so many years, it had been reclaimed by nature, now covered in lush grass.
As Leyvi spoke, Anda smiled and drifted into his embrace, settling into a princess carry.
"I remember too. You carried me like this while trying to escape. Although that old fart was only a weak Core Formation Realm cultivator, our realms were much lower, so we had a hard time dealing with him," Anda recalled, her arms wrapping naturally around Leyvi's neck.
"Hahaha! Bara City was full of small villains like that back then. Now Layla and the Bara Corps have cleaned them up. According to her, there haven't been any reports of robbery or murder around the city for years now. She did a great job," Leyvi said with clear approval.
Anda nodded, though her expression turned slightly thoughtful. "Crime like that has gone down a lot, but unfortunately… the world doesn't seem to want people to have peace."
Leyvi glanced at her. "Is there a new problem or something?"
Anda nodded. "That's right. After we left for the Mystic Realm back then, it seems there has been an increasing number of crazed demonic beasts all over the Cloud Continent."
"Crazed demonic beasts? How crazy?" Leyvi asked, intrigued.
"Crazy crazy. They chase after people and kill them relentlessly, repeating the same thing until they die from core depletion. Normally, demonic beasts wouldn't pick a fight if they sense their opponent is far stronger, but these ones don't care," Anda explained.
"You mean… like that?" Leyvi pointed ahead.
Screech!
An intermediate-level demonic condor was flying straight toward them, its eyes glowing a deep, unsettling red. There was no hesitation in its movement. It was clearly trying to kill them.
The two sides rapidly closed the distance.
Just as the condor came within a few meters, Leyvi casually operated his spiritual touch power and caught it with a large invisible hand, all while continuing to fly forward with Anda still in his embrace.
The condor let out a sharp, pained screech as it struggled violently. Leyvi's invisible grip was far too strong for a creature of its level. Its body twisted awkwardly mid-air, forced to fly alongside them in a rather ridiculous posture.
"Right. Like this. Normally, an intermediate-level beast like that wouldn't dare attack a Core Formation Realm cultivator. But now, more and more of these crazed ones are appearing," Anda said, treating the scene as nothing unusual.
"Do they all have those red eyes?" Leyvi asked, observing the condor as it continued to struggle wildly, attacking in every way it could, yet accomplishing nothing.
He recalled the time they had been on President Albert's airship, heading toward the Central Region. Back then, a demonic owl had attacked the airship with the same reckless ferocity. It hadn't shown the slightest fear, even when facing someone as powerful as President Albert. If he remembered correctly… that owl had the same deep red eyes.
Anda nodded. "Yes. That's the common trait they all share."
"Hmm… I wonder why they became like this? Don't tell me there are evil villains plotting trouble again? Tch. Can't these people just let everyone enjoy a peaceful world?" Leyvi complained.
He genuinely couldn't understand it. Why did people always want to stir chaos? Why couldn't they simply mind their own business?
"Well, hopefully it is the work of some evil villains. If that's the case, once they're caught, the problem can be solved quickly. But if this is caused by nature… that would be far more frightening," Anda said, voicing what she believed to be the more dangerous possibility.
"I just hope our territory won't have too many of these," Leyvi muttered as he crushed the demonic condor and stored its body away.
"Don't worry. We can leave this matter to Layla. She frequently sends people to deal with these crazed demonic beasts whenever they're spotted," Anda reassured him.
"Hahaha! As expected of my wife. My dream of living off my wives is slowly becoming a reality!" Leyvi said, clearly delighted.
"Hehe. That's what we all want too. If you can live off us and have all the time in the world, that just means we ladies will have more time to spend with you," Anda replied with a warm smile.
The couple continued chatting as they flew at a steady, unhurried pace through the sky.
Leyvi kept his spiritual sense extended as far as possible. Whenever he detected a crazed demonic beast, he would casually take a slight detour, eliminate it in an instant, and continue on his way. The deep red eyes made them easy to distinguish from normal beasts, like embers glowing in the dark.
At the end of the day, he was still the lord of this region.
Even if he had no real interest in governance, he didn't mind lending a hand when the opportunity presented itself. Eliminating a few crazed demonic beasts along the way to his destination required little effort, yet it quietly made the land a safer place.
Half a day later, Leyvi arrived at Kikilala River. All he needed to do now was follow this three-kilometer-wide river upstream, and he would reach the Sword Grave Canyon in about two days. From there, it would take another two days to arrive at Alita's place.
He could have reached it faster, of course, but since he had chosen to take multiple small detours along the way to eliminate crazed demonic beasts, a delay was only natural.
As expected, Leyvi entered the canyon two days later.
From the very beginning of the journey, he hadn't taken a single break. With his mysterious core, his Qi seemed endless, allowing him to fly continuously without any signs of exhaustion.
Compared to Anda, who needed to rest every couple of hours to replenish her Qi, the difference was massive. Of course, that wasn't really an issue. He could simply carry her like usual, meaning they didn't have to make any stops. Problem solved.
As they flew through the canyon, Leyvi suddenly broke into a wide smile upon spotting something familiar below. He slowed down and descended slightly.
"Anda, do you recognize this guy?" Leyvi asked, still smiling.
Anda, who had been resting on his back while replenishing her Qi, leaned forward and looked in the direction he pointed.
"What about that demonic beast? It doesn't seem crazed," she replied after a moment, unable to recall anything.
"Eh? You don't remember him anymore? That's the demonic bighorn sheep that challenged and clashed with Mr. Bison back then. He lost, broke his horns, and then I gave him a healing elixir to regrow them. I even tried to recruit him, but he declined. Ring a bell?" Leyvi said, trying to jog her memory.
"Oh. No wonder I can't recall. I do remember something happening outside the carriage, but I also remember that I wasn't interested in the fight, so I never took a look at the sheep," Anda replied casually.
"Let's go and meet him. I wonder if he still remembers me," Leyvi said.
"Why? You want to recruit him again?" Anda asked.
"Haha. I just want to greet him. I like coincidental meetings like this," Leyvi replied.
"Sure, let's go," Anda agreed.
The two descended toward the ground, approaching a small group of demonic bighorn sheep.
"Yo, Mister Sheep! It's been many years. Do you remember me?" Leyvi greeted as he drew closer.
The group of six demonic bighorn sheep immediately became alert. One of them suddenly grew several times larger, stepping forward as the others quickly hid behind it.
"Human! Get lost! You're the second human who can talk with me, but I don't know who you are! If you come any closer, I'll ram you to death!" the large bighorn sheep warned.
Leyvi was speechless. This guy doesn't recognize me anymore?
Anda giggled softly and gestured toward him. "Husband, your face."
Leyvi slapped his forehead in realization. He was still in disguise. Of course the sheep wouldn't recognize him. He quickly removed it and greeted him again.
"Mister Sheep, sorry about that. Do you recognize me now?" Leyvi asked.
"You… you're the lucky encounter human! I remember your face!" the demonic bighorn sheep exclaimed, clearly surprised to see him again.
Leyvi froze for a moment. Lucky encounter human? Is that what he remembered him as? Did he somehow get lucky after meeting him back then?
