Chapter 345 Account Freeze
Chapter 345 Account Freeze
Han Che slept for half the night at the club.
Although I said I was sleeping, I didn't really feel very sound. I first dozed off on the conference room table for a while, but I was woken up by my own elbow less than half an hour later.
Han Che was awakened by a noise. He rubbed his eyes and sat up. It took him two seconds to realize that he had fallen asleep in the club's conference room.
His coat had slipped down to his waist, and his hair was sticking up in a mess. He reached up and pulled the coat up to drape it over his shoulders.
As he opened the door to go out, he ran into the mule coming in through the front door.
When Mule entered, he paused for a moment, his hand still on the doorknob, his gaze sweeping across the empty lobby, muttering, "Hmm? The door's unlocked?"
Then his expression became noticeably wary, as if he was preparing to search inside.
"Could it have been robbed?" Mule took two steps forward, about to walk towards the corridor, when the conference room door opened.
Han Che, with his messy hair, stood at the door, yawned, and halfway through, saw Mule standing there. Before he could even close his mouth, he greeted him, "Hmm? Mule, you're here so early."
Mule breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Han Che standing there. He looked Han Che up and down, his gaze lingering on Han Che's messy hair for a moment. His lips twitched, as if he wanted to laugh but didn't.
"Brother Han? You're already here?" He glanced at Han Che's hair again. "You didn't go back? Did you sleep at the club?"
In winter, dawn breaks late; the mule arrived at the club just as day was breaking.
Han Che reached out and ruffled the hair on the top of his head a couple of times, but he couldn't press down those few sticking-out tufts, so he simply gave up.
"Um," he mumbled between another yawn, "something went wrong, I couldn't go back, so I spent the night at the club." As he said this, a tear welled up in the corner of his eye, which he wiped away with the back of his hand.
"What happened?" Mule's expression turned serious again, and he asked with some concern, "Is something wrong?"
Han Che waved his hand, "It's nothing." As he spoke, he turned his head and gestured with his chin toward the closed office door at the end of the corridor, "Your boss, Xiao Bai, is in that office over there. He's probably not awake yet, so keep your voice down."
Mule followed his gaze, his eyes landing on the closed office door. He then abruptly turned back to Han Che, his eyes wide with surprise: "Huh?? Boss Xiaobai is here too?"
Han Che tapped the mule on the head. "What are you thinking about?"
Mule shrank his neck and covered his forehead with both hands, shaking his head repeatedly: "No, no, no..." He denied it, but his eyes couldn't help but glance at the office door before quickly looking away.
Han Che ignored Mule's wild thoughts, went to the bathroom to wash his face quickly, and said to Mule, "Let's go, come downstairs with me to buy some breakfast. There's a steamed bun shop downstairs, let's eat something first."
The mule followed him out of the club, and the two went down the stairs.
The streets were deserted in the early morning. Steam rose from the steamer baskets of the bun shop, and the hot, fragrant aroma could be smelled from half a street away.
Han Che bit off half of the first bun, and the juice from the meat filling soaked into the dough, making him scald hot, but his mood improved considerably.
After taking a bite of the steamed bun, Han Che felt that he had rediscovered the meaning of life.
My mind started wandering again. Maybe I'm not dead after all?
This is so much like my own world, with its delicious food and fine wine!
"Will you stay here forever?"
Han Che recalled Xiao Bai's words from yesterday. Staring at the sizzling, oily minced meat, he muttered to himself, "Will I stay here?"
"What did you say, Brother Han?" Mule didn't hear clearly and leaned closer to ask.
"It's okay! Just eat!"
Han Che took another sip of soy milk, then, as if suddenly remembering something, glanced at Mule and said, "Hey Mule, I have a question for you."
"Have you heard anything about Tidal Prison lately? I mean, any news or updates from the players about Tidal Prison?"
Hearing his question, Mule chewed the bun in his mouth twice, swallowed quickly, and said, "Tidal Prison? It seems quiet lately. What's going on?"
"Nothing, just asking. Yesterday, the manager of the Dragon Club said that foreign countries have already started communicating with other maps and map bosses. I'm a little curious if Tide Prison has made any moves yet."
Mule shook his head. "No, it's too dangerous there. It's pretty deserted now. Anyone who wants to go can go. Basically, you just sign a waiver, and nobody cares whether you live or die."
"You might be the ones going in the future. The task of communicating with the warden might fall to you."
Han Che gave an awkward laugh, but his eyes turned cold. It seemed that the Tide Prison in the Dragon Kingdom hadn't changed much; it was still the same old story, with few people willing to go there.
The fact that all the extra agents are American is highly suspicious.
It's hard not to think that the United States also has teleportation portals to tidal prisons.
"Hey, Han, what happened between you and Boss Xiaobai last night?" Mule asked, leaning closer to gossip after finishing his last bite.
Han Che sighed and explained helplessly.
Last night, after several rounds of drinks and several dishes, we had a great time.
Han Che and Xiao Bai both drank too much, but Han Che was fine. Apart from feeling a little slow to focus and a little light on his feet, he was okay.
Xiao Bai is no longer able to stay conscious.
Han Che originally said he would take her home, but he couldn't wake her up no matter what he did. He finally managed to wake her up, but she still couldn't unlock her phone.
With no other option, Han Che decided to find a hotel nearby to stay in for the time being.
Han Che helped Xiao Bai to a nearby hotel, only to find that he couldn't swipe his card or make a payment.
With the last vestiges of his rationality, numbed by alcohol, Han Che checked his bank card.
Han Che squinted, trying to focus his gaze on the phone screen. "Bank card transfer amount..." Han Che's eyes were a little blurry, so he could only count on his fingers one by one, "Ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions...?"
"Three million?" Upon hearing this number, Han Che's eyes widened in disbelief, and he sobered up considerably.
I counted it several times to make sure it was correct: three million.
This was pocket money that Xiaobai transferred to him, saying it was to temporarily "fill his stomach" before the "big pie" arrived.
Han Che couldn't believe it. Why would he need a big pie? He already thought this pocket money was more than enough as a reward.
wrong……
With so much money in the account, how could the payment fail?
Han Che looked up at the receptionist in front of him; her standard smile contained a hint of disdain.
Looks like I'm being treated like I'm broke but I'm trying to act cool...
Han Che quickly found a notification message on his phone: "Dear customer, your bank card ending in XXXX has been flagged for abnormal transactions... Emergency payment suspension measures have been taken for this account..."
"Frozen?" Han Che frowned. The message was simply telling him that the large transfer on his new card was suspected of being a telecommunications fraud and that he needed to go to the bank to unfreeze it.
Han Che was speechless. Now he had a ton of money, but he couldn't use it no matter what.
Han Che sighed helplessly and, under the slightly disdainful gaze of the receptionist, helped Xiao Bai leave the hotel.
That's why Han Che and Xiao Bai ended up spending the night at the club.
