Chapter 322 Clay-Faced Robin and the Approaching Showdown
Chapter 322 Clay-Faced Robin and the Approaching Showdown
Chapter 322 Clay-Faced Robin and the Approaching Showdown
Today is a good day!
Because the former third-generation Robin, now an ordinary high school student named Tim Drake, has accomplished something remarkable—he not only completed all of his 10th-grade courses but also received an A in every subject.
And most importantly, he's turned 16! Hahahaha!
In the United States, this is already considered the legal age of adulthood!
Oh, of course, Tim knows that this doesn't mean a 16-year-old has as many rights as an 18-year-old or older, but they can still get a driver's license!
Today is the last day of school before winter break. After the teacher finally announced that school was over, Tim, holding his graduation certificate, stood in the corridor just outside the classroom and laughed wildly, making a terrifying sound that scared the other students away.
"Oh my god! Tim's gone crazy again..."
"Help, that laughter is terrifying..."
"My uncle once took me to see the Joker's gang of lunatics, you know, those guys who idolize the Joker, but none of them laughed as terrifyingly as Tim!"
Amidst the chaotic whispers, a male student wearing round glasses said to his best friend:
"Hey, you know, last time he told me he was actually Robin? I've always thought Tim had some kind of delusions, he should be sent to Arkham Asylum..."
His best friend was a guy with freckles on his face. He glared at the guy with glasses:
"Hey, are you crazy? He's our classmate."
"Ha, I didn't know you were such a kind person to your classmates..." the bespectacled man said.
He curled his lip: "The fact is that Tim Drake could never be Robin, and I would say that even if he were in my presence."
"Come on, shh!" his freckled friend said. "Have you forgotten the time Peterson called him a lunatic in front of Tim, and said he was delusional about being Robin, and then said the real Robin was in Metropolis and had superpowers, and that he wasn't Robin at all, and then tried to beat Tim up... and got his teeth knocked out?"
"That matter? I've heard about it, but..."
"You weren't there. You don't know how scary it was when Tim was yelling 'I'm Robin' while hitting people. I think he's definitely got something wrong with his head. Maybe it's not delusions, but schizophrenia or something," said the freckled guy's best friend.
"Goodness, I think he might have delusions at most... but I still think schizophrenia is unlikely."
The man with glasses said:
"A person with schizophrenia wouldn't get perfect scores in every subject, let alone win the National High School Math Championship..."
"Who says people who win math prizes aren't mentally unstable?"
The freckled man got more and more excited as he spoke:
"Have you forgotten about Peterson who got beaten up last time? I'm not kidding when I say he was 'scrambling for his teeth.' Tim knocked out at least half of his teeth, and he still has to wear dentures now just from the implants. Peterson and his henchmen spent at least 15 minutes picking up teeth from the ground."
While I generally support Tim beating up a school bully like that, it was genuinely frightening, at least it scared me.
He concluded, "In my opinion, even if Tim isn't mentally unstable, he has violent tendencies. He—"
"Impossible, I don't think Tim is mentally ill."
"?"
"How could you talk about your classmate like that behind his back? It's so wrong of you! Tim is our good classmate, our good class monitor, and... maybe he really really is Robin!"
"?"
"What are you talking about? Are you out of your mind?"
The freckled man reached out worriedly and touched the bespectacled man's head: "You don't have a fever, so why are you talking nonsense?"
"As classmates, Tim is our favorite guy; he's so popular among us!"
"...Uh. Okay, I don't know what's wrong with you, but I just feel like Tim's been acting weird..."
He was halfway through his sentence when he saw a stiff smile appear on the other person's face, their eyes flashing a frantic warning at him.
"..."
The freckled man turned his head stiffly and saw Tim standing behind the two of them with a smile.
He was holding a bottle of mineral water in his hand, and because he was squeezing it so hard, he had twisted and deformed the bottle.
He casually placed the bottle on top of the cabinet next to him, and then reached out and poked five holes in the metal cabinet behind his two classmates with his fingers.
Tim Drake, having received Bruce Wayne's full League of Shadows training, subconsciously used the correct technique when pressing down on the cabinet, and easily broke through it.
"I'm so...so sorry!!!" The two students were terrified, bowing repeatedly.
"Please, please let us go!"
"..."
Tim was initially a little angry, but seeing them like this, he couldn't stay angry anymore.
After seeing off the two classmates who had slipped away, Tim packed his things and appeared at the Bat Cave a few hours later.
"Alfred, are you there? Alfred?"
There was no one in the Batcave. Tim went down the steps and saw a man in a Batman suit sitting in front of the Batcomputer, taking off his jacket and suit.
"Hey, Dick." Tim, the third Robin, walked over and greeted Dick Grayson, the former first Robin who was disguised as Batman and the current superhero Nightwing.
While Batman was busy with Justice League affairs, Dick Grayson, the original Robin, current Nightwing, and the eldest of Batman's adopted sons, continued to fight crime in Gotham City while wearing the Batman costume.
Although he doesn't have Superman's incredible superpowers like X-rays that can illuminate an entire city or allow him to fly freely, he is still competent as Batman in managing Gotham.
Unfortunately, Dick couldn't replace Batman's position in the Justice League. Chen Tao was always looking for a leader of the Justice League, not the Gotham City Administrator.
"How is the situation?"
Tim reached out hopefully and clicked twice on the Bat computer with the mouse, hoping to get an opportunity for Robin to strike.
Soon, various surveillance footage flashed on the screen. These were the Bat-Cameras that Batman had deployed throughout Gotham City, capable of monitoring the entire city's movements at all times.
On the screen, Mr. Freeze, wearing a freeze armor painted in red and green, is shooting a large group of robbers who are crying out for their mothers.
He adjusted the freeze gun to a non-lethal power level. Every bandit hit by the gun would be instantly frozen into an ice block and lose the ability to resist, but would not be seriously injured. Once thawed, they would be completely unharmed. This was simply the best weapon to implement the ironclad rule of not killing.
"..." Tim snorted sullenly.
He looked at the bandits on the screen, who were almost frozen into various poses like ice sculptures: "Looks like Victor did a good job. I don't need to get involved anymore."
He then looked at another screen. A large group of claws were swaggering across the area in broad daylight. Several armed black men were quickly subdued by the claws. One of the men swung his crowbar and fired an energy beam, but he was soon easily pinned down by the other claws and struggled on the ground.
Tim recognized the other man; his name was Crowbar, and he was Gotham's newest supervillain.
"..." It seems there are no cases for him to handle at all.
Bah! A supervillain? He was taken care of in no time! Tim was greatly disappointed.
He turned to look at Nightwing Dick Grace.
"Hey Dick, did you resolve that problem you had before?"
After thinking for a moment, Tim asked, "About that group of people who want to do something to the nuclear power plant, and the organization behind them?"
Tim is eager to prove himself on this point. Among the Batman Robins, he has the strongest deductive reasoning ability. He even deduced that Batman is Bruce Wayne himself based solely on a video of the Nightwing Grayson family's performance!
He said, "Did you investigate according to the two directions I gave you? What were the final results?"
“That’s right, your judgment is correct,” Dick said. “Those two places were indeed the hideouts of those who trafficked in nuclear materials, but when I got there, they were deserted.”
"But they must have left clues," Tim said excitedly. "Their former hideouts have their fingerprints and a lot of biometric information, which we can use to identify who they are."
"No."
"?"
"That group has been caught. They tried to run into the Penguin's territory to buy weapons, but they didn't expect their information to be outdated. The Penguin doesn't sell weapons anymore; he sells burritos and ice cream now."
Dick pulled two burritos from the bat-shaped drawer next to him: "So the penguins treated them well, then drugged their food, tied them up like dumplings, and brought them to me while they were unconscious. I've locked them up and put them in the cages below the Batcave now. I'll go find Gordon in a bit and then hand them over."
As Nightwing Dick Grayson spoke, he had already taken off Batman's suit and put on his own V-neck Nightwing suit.
Then he turned to look at the third Robin Tim next to him and saw that the other person was petrified.
"What's wrong?"
He asked.
"It's alright," Tim said. "Waaah, my grand deduction plan... it's over before it even began."
"Sometimes former villains understand their kind better than we do," Nightwing Dick said with a shrug. "And Claws saves most of the energy needed for melee combat, allowing us to focus on solving cases."
Nightwing Dick concluded, "So basically nothing major has happened in Gotham this month. The really powerful characters are either in their cells at Arkham Asylum or selling burritos."
"Batman is busy with Justice League matters, so we have to protect Gotham for him. Some villains have reformed, so we can use them..."
But Tim didn't hear what Dick said afterward; he was just staring intently at the Batcomputer, where he had just received a new news notification:
In Metropolis, Batman's Robin lifted a large truck, saving a family of three who were trapped under a car that had overturned.
???
What kind of trouble is Mudface up to now?
Tim continued scrolling down the entire news webpage, his face growing increasingly pale.
"I can no longer tolerate Mudface using my face and my name to swindle people in the Metropolis."
Tim turned to Nightwing Dick and said, "I'm going to Metropolis and teach Mudface a lesson!"
He declared, "I'll show everyone who the real Robin is!"
"?"
Dick browsed the web and saw the following report:
Robin was dating five women at the same time, and after being discovered, things went wrong...
"puff."
Nightwing Dick immediately understood what was going on. For Mudface, impersonating other people was practically instinctive, but he had a terrible habit of never fully replicating a person's personality and actions. Instead, he would mix his own understanding into that person's personality, and such understanding often led to vastly different interpretations and completely different results. Moreover, he particularly liked to add his own dramatic flair.
Dick could almost immediately guess where Robin's five girlfriends came from. Maybe they were just people who fawned over him, and he accepted them all, only to end up with Robin's face, which led to this situation.
"Hahahaha..." He immediately burst into laughter, which was rather unkind.
"I'm going to Metropolis," Tim declared confidently. "I'm going to teach Mudface a lesson, show him who the real Robin is, and teach him a lesson so he'll know better next time he does something bad—"
"Don't stare at my face!"
He said this through gritted teeth.

"Mother, it seems Father has found someone new."
Damian Wayne sat in the passenger seat of the car and spoke bluntly to Talia.
In front of the mother and son, the car's computer screen was playing a scene of Batman and Wonder Woman sitting together. Talia had hacked into a roadside security camera, which was pointing directly at the two people eating behind the restaurant's glass window.
They were both dressed casually and looked like an ordinary couple.
"Mother, Mother, are you listening?"
Seeing that Talia remained silent, Damian continued, "Are you planning to make me Robin, Mother?"
He began, "But now it seems that Robin is someone else. I saw the news before."
Damian had just switched the tablet screen from the monitor to the news report when Talia interrupted him immediately.
"Switch the camera back to the footage of monitoring Wonder Woman and Bruce. Hurry up."
she says.
"Mother, I think you should accept the facts," Damian said. "Father has changed. He's not the same person he was when you gave birth to me."
Damian didn't intend to anger Talia, so he kept the surveillance video background on and then opened a window.
"From a certain point onward, the father's behavior pattern underwent a significant change."
